iCrib Sound System by Munchkin
Now that the weather is getting cooler, we're facing a looming problem in our house. You see, we run the fan on the air conditioner in Anderson's room at night to generate a little white noise. As the temperature continues to dip, we won't be able to do that. The dilemma is, we're not really sure how to stop using the fan as a white noise generator. Do we just go cold turkey (never a good idea), or do we creep in after he's fallen asleep to turn it off (also not a good idea)? With something like the iCrib Sound System by Munchkin we might not have to worry about it.
The iCrib Sound System, winner of a JPMA Innovation Award, is a compact sound system designed to hook onto the edge of your crib and is compatible with most MP3 players including the ubiquitous iPod. You load up your MP3 player with your child's favorite bedtime music and it plays through the iCrib with a 15, 30, or 60 minute auto shut-off.
I'm not entirely sure how this product might be better than an MP3 playing boom box. I guess the auto shut-off is a key feature of the iCrib, however the fact that you have to remember recharge your MP3 player every day may limit its usefulness. If there was a way to safely integrate a power supply with the iCrib, it would definitely be the way to go.
