What I Don't Want to Buy

bumperbonnet.jpg

From what I understand, children sometimes get hurt a bit. After all, getting a few bumps and bruises is part of childhood. Obviously I would never want Andy to get hurt, but he's done a face plant or two while we're trying to help him learn how to sit, and after a couple minutes of crying, he's been fine. I just don't think I could ever see myself buying the Bumper Bonnet. It's a cushion on the head that protects the baby from hurting their heads on anything. I think as long as you baby proof, you really shouldn't need this. Unless it's for when you go to another person's house maybe? I can't really see the point besides that. Am I clueless about what is in my future, or is this a silly product?

This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I have a 6 month old daugther and started getting a lot of junk mail for baby products including what I call "The Paranoid Parent Catalog" (otherwise known as "One Step Ahead." They feature this and other freaky items for aspiring munchausen-by-proxy moms. Stuff like this honestly makes me wonder where our civilization is headed. Thanks for posting it!
