Review: The Bottle Tamer

You may remember The Bottle Tamer, which I wrote about earlier this month. We were lucky enough to secure a review of this product, and we couldn't wait to try it out. As Andy is getting older and I'm nursing him less, I am finding it difficult to make sure he's getting enough to drink. I give him sippy cups often at home while he's playing on the floor as well as at mealtimes, but when we are out and about, I don't as often because he is in the stage where he loves to throw everything he can get his hands on to the ground (if it doesn't end up in his mouth at least!).

To refresh your memory, The Bottle Tamer is a strap that goes on your child's bottle or sippy cup to keep it from falling on the ground. You can attach it to a stroller, car seat, or high chair, and it ensures that the bottle is always within your child's reach and doesn't get dirty by hitting the ground.

The way it works is you strap and snap around the body of the sippy cup or bottle. You must make sure it is secure and won't slip off. This was very easy, and this part is also adjustable so you can fit most bottles and cups. It definitely fits everything we own. Next you adjust the length of the strap so it fits your needs. Then you pull the cup through a large opening in the strap to make a secure knot on the bar of what you are putting it on. This part is harder if you're using a sippy cup with handles, but it did still go through for me. The directions are on the back of the cardboard pice the straps comes on, and they have directions with pictures. It's quite easy to use.

Overall, The Bottle Tamer worked very well. Because of how you attach it to the stroller, high chair, etc, it will not fall off. And we found the part that attaches to the sippy cup worked great too with no chance of it falling off. It's easy to use, takes up almost no room, and can be moved from high chair to stroller with ease.

The one important thing you need for The Bottle Tamer is a bar of some sort to wrap it around. When using the tray on our high chair, the strap isn't long enough to make it's way around and up to my son's mouth. If you have big plastic items, this product might be harder to use. The length is adjustable, but we just wish we had the option of making it a few inches longer.

We think this is a new essential product that would be a great shower gift for any new parent. It's extremely affordable, and it is very useful. I only wish I'd had one for a while now!
