Soaker Pads

I will admit that before giving birth, I did little research on baby products. I figured I'd get what I needed when I realized that I did in fact need it. This was not the best approach I realized (and one of the reasons we started this blog!) as there were many products I did not know about that I really could have used. But there was one thing that my mother (of Super Cool Pets fame) pushed on me even though I had never heard of it and no one mentioned it to me. This was the lap pad. I didn't understand the point before giving birth as Iiterally thought it was a pad that you had on your lap while you held the baby. Since giving birth a year ago however, I cannot count the number of times it's come in handy. Every time I've traveled, I've brought along my large lap pad for when I change Andy on a bed or the floor in case there was an accident (and you know of course there was, those Pee Pee Tee Pees would have come in handy too!). And the smaller pads have been great as another layer for our changing table. It's so much easier to throw a small pad into the laundry than take off the terry cloth cover to our changing table.

I just discovered some really cute lap pads, the Soaker Pads at hipbaby. They have fun designs, are large (3 foot squares), and have a quilted flanned side as well as a water repellant vinyl side. They are also fully machine washable. If you are going to have a baby or know someone who is, make sure they have a lap pad! I will also be reviewing these particular ones, so look for it in the next few weeks!

These are great to have on hand. And, plenty of them! I stoked up on these and extra baby blankets I picked up at http://www.Sandboxcouture.com. They have some really cool prints!
