Review: Boon Frog Pod
We have been impressed with Boon products in the past (Flo, Animal Bags). And at first, the Frog Pod was no different. However, the story does not end there.
To use the Frog Pod, you hang it up on your bathroom wall, usually on the shower tiles. Then after bath time, you take off the removable scoop and pick up all the bath toys. The big holes in the scoop allow water to easily drain away, and the scoop is big enough to hold a bunch of toys. The frog itself gives you a place to put soap and shampoo, and a place to hang up wash cloths.
The installation was relatively straight forward. It involved some extensive cleaning, and drying. You then peel the backing to some sticky pads and stick it to the side of the tiles. After waiting 30 seconds, you're good to go. However, you're not allowed to put anything on the mount for 24 hours while it sets. We followed these directions to the letter. However a few days later the whole thing fell off with a very loud crash.
Needless to say we were extremely disappointed.
At this point our options are relatively few. There are screw holes in the mounts, but obviously we're not going to drill into the tiles in our shower. We could mount it on the wall outside the shower, but then we won't get the benefit of allowing water to drain out of the scoop (since it would go all over the wall). Another option we are considering is super-gluing the mount back onto the shower tiles. This is also less than ideal because eventually we'll want to take it off without leaving too much behind.
We still use the Frog Pod. Right now its sitting on the floor next to the tub and leaning against the wall. We still use the scoop to pick up our bath toys. We just wish it could be mounted inside the tub!
Update! We received a suction-cup hanger from the folks at Boon, and we are forced to take back a lot of this review! You can read all about it in our update.
The Frog Pod is available at Amazon.com, Baby Wise, and your favorite baby retailers nationwide.

Glad to hear that you like the functionality of the Frog Pod but we're very sorry to hear that the adhesive strips did not work out for you. The adhesive strips used to mount the wall plate have proven to be quite successful for most customers. However, in some cases, the strips are not adhering to the wall surface (specifically on tile with a silicone coating). In response to this, we created an alternate mounting option using suction cups. The new suction cup wall plate allows for easy re-positioning of the frog and it has been receiving excellent feedback from customers with a variety of bathroom surfaces. All new Frog Pods are currently shipping with both the adhesive strips and the suction cups.
As you point out, the third option for mounting the frog is to attach the wall plate with screws and anchors into the grout lines of your tile. This is the most secure method for hanging the Frog Pod.
We always appreciate feedback on our products and want you to know that we try to make continuous improvements based on customer comments. Please let me know if you would like us to send you a suction cup wall plate for you to try out.
Thanks again for your comments. We appreciate your support!
