Review: Bébe Belay

Bébe Belay recently sent one of their products to Super Cool Baby for review. According to their website, this accessory is "an instant bib, baby bootie connector, and pacifier holder" all in one product. It definitely sounds like a very useful little gadget, so I was very excited to try it out.

The Bébe Belay arrived in a padded envelope very quickly. It was inside a sheer and shiny little bag with a ribbon. The bag is reusable we must note, and the ribbon is a part of the bag. We liked that a lot! The first thing we noticed was how small it is. Each end has a clip on it, and they were holding a card for the company with its instructions on the back. Bébe Belay is available in 10 different patterns, five of which are limited editions. We received the blue stripe one, which is probably the one that would match Andy's clothes the best.

We found that the clips work very well. When we tried to pull them off the card they came packaged with, I had to tug very hard. The clips are easy to use, and the strap is easy to adjust.

We don't have any pacifiers in the house, so I have been unable to try it out that way. But I found that Bébe Belay worked great as a bib holder. It works just like the ones at the dentist, you secure one side, but it around your baby, and then secure the other. Andy was a little confused about it at first, not used to wearing something around his neck, but quickly he forgot and continued playing.

Bébe Belay also is great as a sock holder, but I think I am actually going to use it to keep Andy's mittens together. Although they are made out of a thicker material than his socks (fleece), Bébe Belay worked great at keeping them together. It took a good tug to pull the mittens off. Whenever I want to bring mittens along on any trip, I am going to make sure I have my Bébe Belay with me!

One of the best things about Bébe Belay is that it is extremely mobile. It takes up almost no room at all inside of a diaper bag, so you can bring it with you wherever you go. There have been more times than I care to remember when I've found myself at a restaurant with Andy and realized I had no bib. But with Bébe Belay one could be made instantly with the restaurant's napkins.

Bébe Belay is also quite safe. When 2 lbs or greater force is applied to it, the clips will pull free. So you don't have to worry about it strangling your child. We appreciate the safety factor.

I am quite happy with my Bébe Belay, and I will probably start giving it out myself to all my new mother friends in the future. I highly recommend it to all Super Cool Baby readers.
