Review: The First Adventures of Incredible You

Last week we wrote about a customized children's book from Custom Made for Kids. Earlier this week we received a complimentary customized copy of the book for review.

Ordering the book was simple. First we decided to whom we will to give the book. Then we answered a series of 20 or so questions. Many of the questions come with default generic answers (for example, "The park" will be one of your favorite places). These were helpful because it gave a sense of what the question was looking for. Plus, many times the default was exactly what we were going to say anyway.

The book itself is hard-covered with glossy full color pages. It starts with a title and dedication page. The dedication can be one of many choices, but you can't write just anything here.

The story is a series of rhyming paragraphs. It talks about all the exciting things that are in store for the young child who is receiving the book: going to your favorite place (we picked the toddler park down the street), trips to a zoo, trips to a favorite beach, riding a bike for the first time, and so on. The story is remarkably touching and well written especially considering how flexible the story has to be to satisfy all the possible customizations out there. Just reading it makes me excited for the years to come.

These books make fantastic gifts for children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and even friends. If you're interested in getting some this holiday season, be sure to order early, as they can take a few weeks to process and be delivered!
