The Curve Gate
This is a great idea that we just discovered. The The Curve Gate by Safety 1st is a gate for the top or bottom of the stairs that provides a space for solid footing. If you're carrying your baby (or your baby, a basket of laundry, and two dozen other things), it's nice to know you won't fall down the stairs, so having that secure footing is ideal. The gate can expand up to 42 inches, has a visual indicator that it is securely locked, can be opened with one hand, and is hardware mounted.
