Thermometers made easy with the Exergen TemporalScanner

Like many parents we heard that the best way to take the temperature of a baby was with a rectal thermometer. Oral thermometers aren't very effective, and forehead temperature strips are notoriously inaccruate. I wish we had heard of the Exergen TemporalScanner before now. We just received one of these thermometers and it is so incredibly easy to use. You just press it against the forehead, press the button, and slowly move it over the temple and into your child's hairline. (If you're child is sweating, you instead take a reading on the skin just behind their ear).
There have been a number of medical studies that prove that this kind of temperature reading is nearly as accurate as the rectal thermometer, and more accurate than the ear thermometers.
With its patented Arterial Heat Balance system, the TemporalScanner measures ambient temperatures, mathematically replaces the small temperature loss from cooling at the skin, and displays and accurate arterial temperature.
Under normal circumstances, arterial temperature is close to rectal temperature, but almost a degree Fahrenheit higher than an oral temperature, and 2 degrees Fahrenheit higher than underarm temperature.
It goes without saying that you probably won't spend nearly as much time cleaning this thermometer off when you're done, and you won't have a squirming screaming child to deal with as you wait for your thermometer to register its reading. This thermometer is so quick and easy, you can take a temperature whenever you want.
In addition to Babies R' Us, the Exergen TemporalScanner is also available at Walgreens and Costco.
