Tummy time was one of the hardest things for Andy. He hated it with a passion, and I couldn't stand doing it. Every time I did, I'd take a happy baby and make him miserable. I think the Kick and Grow Tummy Zone may have helped our problem because it is at an angle so it doesn't take as much strength to look around. It has a large monkey toy that reverses to a mirror at the top of the slope too. It's also machine washable!

Need a good idea for a child's present? Try Giftlit, a book of the month club that gears the gift towards the age of the child. Choose between babies, 2-5, and older ages. In each age group, there are different options grouped by theme and age. You can buy a 3 month, 6 month, or 12 month subscription. It's also great because any book can be substituted or returned. The books are chosen by advisory board of librarians, educators, authors, and industry experts. There's also groups for young adults, adults, and families too, so you can use this site to do all your holiday shopping or birthday gifts for your entire family!

Bonbi Forest sells handmade and independently designed goods from artists, crafters and designers from across the globe. They are one of my favorite t-shirt companies for adults, but they sell some children's clothes as well. I love their Panda tee, and the Lion Onesie is pretty cute too.

One of the easiest ways to keep Andy happy when I take him shopping is to feed him. I find it hard to hold his food container while also pushing a shopping cart, so I am so happy to find the OnTray. This tray attaches to the handle of the shopping cart, and you can put the food directly in it. It's easy for your child to reach, and it gives you two hands to push the cart! If you aren't feeding your child when shopping, use it for a place to keep toys. It comes with a cover, it is microwave and dishwasher safe, and it comes in four colors too.

We were lucky that Andy never chewed on his crib, but we know other parents who weren't so lucky. If this is a problem with your child, we've found the Gummi Crib Rail. This is basically a giant and soft teether that goes over the railing. It is non-toxic, installs with self-adhesive strips, and is trim-to-fit.

If you like vintage materials, check out the new vintage line at Kidcosmic. Each piece in this new collection is recycled from vintage fabrics, so it is eco friendly as well as cute. This collection includes bibs, blankets, chenille jackets, and there are so many beautiful pieces. We recommend you browse through to see all the great things they are selling. They'd make the perfect gift for a new or expecting parent.

The Lavender Lab by Cloud b is a plush dog that has aromatherapy packets inside of it which are filled with lavender. There are lots of sleep benefits associated with lavender, so it may be a good idea for your child if you are having sleeping issues with him. Each packet lasts up to five years, and you can release additional scent by squeezing the dog's head, back, or bottom. You can also use it too, placing it on your pillow when your child isn't sleeping.

Bubblecakes is a new company that makes baby blankets, and they personalize each one. You can monogram them or have the child's name embroidered onto it. They have a ton of different designs that they categorize into five sections: vintage, patchwork, modern, retro, and minky. All blankets come gift wrapped in a cake box, and each also comes with a diaper tag.
Also, receive $15 off your order with the coupon code friendsandfamily through the rest of the year!

If you are worried about the safety of plastics, this is the sippy cup for your family. The Safe Sippy™ is a stainless steel cup free of all the harmful chemicals in plastics. It holds 11 ounces, has removable easy grip handles, and is top rack dishwasher safe. It comes in three colors: blue, pink, and wintergreen.

I've recently discovered the book Paint Can! Children's Rooms by Sunny Goode, and I think looks like the perfect book for anyone who wants likes to decorate and plans on doing it for their children throughout their childhood. This book is all about decorative painting for childrens' rooms, from when they are babies through the pre-teen years. There's an introduction that discusses painting basics and "You Can Do It!" sections with pictures to help you along your way. I haven't seen this book personally yet, but I'd love to hear what our readers think if anyone owns it or has looked through it.

Swirl Syndicate is a company that sells multicultural tees for children. Their designs are meant to take the taboo out of race and instead celebrate a rich mixed heritage. All the tees are sweatshop-free 100% cotton and fit sizes from 6 months to 4T. There are also adult tees too. Some of my favorite designs are Whine, I'm Swirled, and Intercontinental.

A while ago we had a contest for a [Potty Training Kit](http://www.supercoolbaby.com/archives/2008/07/win_a_potty_training_kit_from.php) courtesy of Huggies, but I forgot to tell everybody who won! So, a belated congratulations to Shannon T. Thank you to all our readers who entered the contest, better luck next time!
Here's a great little toy if you want to get your child started training early for the pros. With the Golf de Bebe by Vilac you can introduce your little one to the putting green with this child-friendly caddy. The wood caddy rolls on two rubber edged wheels and comes with two putters, one driver, one soft "golf ball", one marker and one coordinating sun visor. It's made with non-toxic and child-friendly finishes, and includes velcro closures to keep your items locked up tight!

So many babies hate tummy time that I think it's important to give them something fun to look at. The Lamaze Spin & Explore Garden Gym definitely does that! It has lots of crinkly, squeaky, and tactile parts to play with, and the center spins so your baby can see everything on the mat! The spinner is also removable for when your baby is old enough to sit up on his own.

These Storage-Palooza toy bins might be on the pricey side, but they definitely look like they get the job done. Modeled after vegetable bins, these storage units hold toys, books, and games. You can stack a few to conserve floor space and get extra storage. They come in lots of matching and complementary colors including: Antique White, Butter, Dark Chocolate, French Blue, Honey, Navy, Pink, Sky, Spring Green, Tomato or White.

I've mentioned a few times that I wanted to decorate Andy's nursery with teddy bears but ultimately failed (which is one of the reasons I started Super Cool Baby, so I would be better at knowing what is out there!). Baby's Best Friend Teddy, available in both pink and blue, would have been perfect for me! It is a wicker basket that is stuff with tons of products featuring teddy bears, including a teddy bear memory book, a teddy bear brag book, a cardigan, onesie, appliqued pant, teddy bear hat and bib, scratch mitts, and an actual teddy bear. I think this would be a great gift for anyone expecting a baby!

Here's a high chair that is definitely worth the money you'll spend on it. The Fresco Loft Chair is also an infant recliner and toddler seat and safe for infants 3 months and up, so you'll get tons of use out of it. The seat fully reclines so an infant could sleep in it, and it also swivels 360 degrees so you can leave it in one place and have it facing any way you want! It comes with a white seat pad, a dishwasher safe tray that is removable, five point harness with adjustable shoulder straps, and multiple position footrest. It also features an easy lift height adjuster, multiple position reclining seat, enclosed wheels at the base, and a storage compartment.

We're headed to the beach this week. So this Eco-Friendly Sand Play Set would be a great toy to bring along. This sand play set is made entirely out of recycled materials and includes everything you need to make a spectacular sand castle. It includes a green bucket with a sturdy rope handle, an orange rake and shovel, and a crenelated sandcastle mold.

I think the I Am the Boss Dinosaur is so much fun because it's both a baby seat and a ball pit. This dino has crinkly spikes, textured scales, and a rattle tail, and then inside is 60 colorful balls. Your baby will have a blast playing with this dinosaur and all the balls. You can zip the dino up when your baby isn't sitting in it, and there's even peek-a-boo holes for extracting balls from his belly. The best part is that it's machine washable!

Anderson **hated** his bassinet when he was a newborn. It's too bad, as that would've been a bit more convenient for us than the pack & play he ended up in. That being said, I wish we had a one of these Cariboo Classic Bassinets in Mahogany
. This stylish bassinet (also available in other colors) will complement your bedroom furniture and give your baby a comfortable place to sleep during the first few weeks and months of his life. The fabric zips off and is machine washable for easy care and cleaning. Luckily you'll get more than a few months use out of it: the bassinet can be converted to a toy chest!

Tees for Change is a company that sells adult tees and baby onesies that are designed to inspire you to live your life with passion, purpose, and positivity. Who doesn't want that? They have four adorable onesies available right now that fit newborns up to 24 months. Each onesie is made sweatshop-free in the USA and the cotton is grown without any pesticides or chemicals. Also, for every tee they sell, Trees for the Future will plant a tree.

Andy had a second hand set of books that could also be stacked as building blocks that he loved, and I'm happy to finally find something like that on the web. These Building Books can be read and stacked, so they are two toys in one. Each one has 12 pages which are thick enough to turn easily. There are four in all: Animal ABC, Natural ABC, Kids ABC, and Things That Go.
