My mother is probably Andy's biggest fan. I think she was even more excited than I was when he was born. If your parents are the same way, a good place to buy them a sentimental gift this holiday season is from the Grandparent Gift Co. They have ornaments, handprint and footprint gifts, brag books, and even ultrasound gifts. This is a great way to celebrate your child's first Christmas with the new grandparents! Also, until the end of the year, use the code CUST09 to receive a free Grandparents' Little Ideal Book with any size order!

Trains are always a big hit with both boys and girls alike, so we have bought Andy many different toy trains since he was born. I really like the idea of a special Christmas train that only comes out during the holidays, such as the Santa Stacking Train and Track because the presents and passengers can be loaded on and off too. This is the type of toy Andy's always loved as he likes to put things on and take them off over and over again. You can also personalize the velvet storage sack too!

It's getting to be that busy time of year again. Sometimes you can never really be too sure where you're going to be feeding your little one. The Palette Plate Feeding Set by Skip Hop is great for storing and serving finger foods and small portions of baby food, especially when you're not eating at your dining room table. The containers are BPA-, Phthalate-, and PVC-free, and the palette shape of the plate makes it a cinch to hold with one hand while you feed your child with the other.

The Animal Attraction Baby Toys are cute stuffed animals that have magnets inside so they can be pulled apart and stuck back together. I think that would be a fun activity for your little one that he won't get with any other stuffed animal. There's also crunchy fabric and many other different textures. This is a set of three animals, so they can also be mixed and matched too!

I don't want to even contemplate needing a double stroller just yet, but for those of you, umm, blessed with such a bounty, Pure and Honest Kids carries a nice selection of double strollers, including this DuoWalker Sky. This versatile stroller can be reconfigured with a carrycot to hold a newborn and a toddler. The DuoWalker Sky stroller has an extra large storage basket, 3 position seating, sun canopy, rain cover and bumper bar included. It features 12" 360° swiveling wheels, and adjustable handlebar and 3 position adjustable seats.
The Personalized Deluxe Teething Blanket is special because it has four different textured teethers so your baby can choose which one feels the best on his soar gums. The blanket is soft and drool absorbent with a satin border and plush lion on one side with a ribbon mane. It's also machine washable!

These Adiri Natural Nurser look like ... well, you know, "natural". They are highly recommended by doctors, nurses, and lactation consultants all over the world. A simple cover keeps the nipple clean and leak free prior to use. The Natural Nurser is available in three different stages (0 to 3 months, 3 to 6 months, and 6+ months) each with different flow rates. Best of all these bottles are dishwasher safe, and can be sterilized using normal methods.
Need a cute set of shoes for your baby girl this holiday season? We have fallen in love with the Cranberry Bird Booties. These custom made shoes are made from a felt that comes from recycled fiber, are fully lined, and have a velcro strap. There's also a strap at the back to help get them on easily. They come in three sizes: 0-3m, 3-6m, 6-12m. We think they are so festive but could be worn after the holidays are over too!

For those of you with iPhones (or perhaps contemplating a new one this holiday season), there are lots of different applications available that are made just for us parents. First there is Baby Monitor. Start this app up and place the iPhone near your sleeping child. Once she wakes up and cries, it will place a phone call to the number of your choice. With this app, you won't need to pack a monitor for an overnight trip. At $0.99, there's really no reason not to have something this useful.
Another useful app is White Noise. This $0.99 app (also available as a free Lite version) does just what you think: plays white noise. We all know how useful this can be when putting a newborn to sleep.
Finally, parents with newborns might find Baby Tracker: Nursing extremely useful. It keeps track of your nursing schedule for up to six children (I hate to be the family that needs that kind of capability!). With just a few clicks your nursing sessions are recorded: the length of time and the side you nursed on (or both), and best of all, it keeps track of which side you nursed on last.
We think the Bonsai Book Caddy is a great option for your child. It makes it so your child has to really work to throw them on the floor, and yet it is easy for him or her to get the book she is looking for on her own. You don't have to worry about drilling it into the wall like tall bookcases. And we love the simple and modern look to it. It assembles without tools and is wholly designed and manufactured in USA from North American materials.

Unlike a lot of babies, Anderson hated tummy time. We always felt badly whenever we tried it. Perhaps if we had something fun like the Infantino Surfboard Tummy Time Mat, Andy might've enjoyed it more. The design features soft, plush fabric, adorable sea creatures, a prop up pillow, and even a growth chart! If you fill the removable pouch with water, your child can watch the mini "aquarium" come to life. The mat is also available in pink.
We love the vintage feel of the Pull Along Pinto toy. The pony sits on a sturdy platform and has a pull cord. The stuffed animal can also be easily removed, so your child can take him anywhere, even to bed!

We like to read Andy stories about the holidays we celebrate as we get closer to the date. If you do the same, here are some good options for you! First there is Today Is Thanksgiving!, which encourages children to give thanks.
Thanksgiving Is for Giving Thanks is a celebration of friends and family and what brings them together.
Five Silly Turkeys is a counting book about turkeys doing silly things.
My First Thanksgiving teaches a bit of the history associated with the holiday.
The Turkey Ball is a fun trip with turkeys as they prepare for a ball.
The Story of Thanksgiving helps teach your child about the first Thanksgiving.
This is Thanksgiving uses rhythm of The House That Jack Built and rhyme to describe a big family gathering on Thanksgiving Day.
And finally, Turkey Time! focuses on what everyone loves, the food!

With all the environmental problems lurking out there for parents today, the writers over at Eco Child's Play will help you keep abreast of all of them.

This placemat is sturdy so your little one can be tough on it, and it can be personalized. The order must be placed today for guaranteed delivery by Thanksgiving.
Also check out the Thanksgiving placemats at Olive Kids. We've reviewed their placemats in the past and can guarantee that they are both sturdy and adorable!
Andy loved to pick up his plate and throw it on the floor for what seemed like an eternity. If this is a problem for you too, check out the Mate by Skip Hop. It is made up of three pieces: a tray, a plate, and the utensils. Basically, the plate pops in and off of the tray, and the fork and spoon do the same. Your baby can't get the plate off the tray to drop it on the floor, and yet it's easy for you to take off and clean. You can also microwave the plate separately. It comes in three colors (orange, raspberry, and sky blue), and is for babies 6 months or older.

Just Ask Baby, is a new website that we just found out about. It's billing itself as
The first online on-demand TV channel focused solely on aiding parents in their understanding of their unique infant’s social, emotional and intellectual development.
We created Just Ask Baby because we are strong believers in the importance of helping parents help infants as they develop socially, emotionally and intellectually, and we would love to work with you to help parents get more insight into their infant’s development and how that affects the person they will become.
For Just Ask Baby we produced exclusive, fun videos hosted by nine-month-old Joey and his infant friends who give us a true view of what babies Feel, See, Think, Do and Say during their first year.
While each video is presented in a fun format, the content is based on the well-established science of infant development, and every video has a complete set of scientific references, supervised by our Chief Scientific Advisor, Professor David Elkind.
Just Ask Baby has lots of different videos where you can learn what your child is feeling, seeing, thinking, saying, and doing from ages 0-2 months, 3-5 months, 6-8 months, and 9-11 months. There's also an area where you can keep track of your child's picture, milestones and even keep a journal.
Just Ask Baby is definitely a useful website for new parents. If you're interested in checking it out, Just Ask Baby is offering a 15 day free trial. There is also an option to buy a gift subscription for a friend, or grandchild.

Infant seats are all pretty similar, and sometimes it's hard to decide which one is best for you. We think that the Pod Bouncer is definitely one that stands out from the rest and should be considered. It can be rocked by hand, has a vibration setting, and as your baby grows older can learn to jiggle it himself. It has two positions, a removable toy bar, and removable canopy. The best part is that it hooks up to your MP3 player, so you can also soothe your baby with his favorite tunes. It supports up to 25lbs.

Puppets are great because they allow lots of creativity and can travel easily anywhere. the Kids Animal Hand Puppets are adorable, easy to use by both kids and their parents, and would be great stocking stuffers this holiday season. Available in six different animals: lion, monkey, pig, bunny, elephant, and frog.

Anderson has taken a real liking to his bath toys, especially the little submarine that squirts water. We have to be careful that he doesn't take his both toys out of the bath with him. If we had this cool Super Sub Sohie from Wow Toys that wouldn't be a problem. This wind-up toy has a propeller for the bath and a set of hidden wheels for dry land. Super Sub Sophie comes complete with her very own deep sea diver, Darren, and doesn't require any batteries. It's made from extra durable plastic, so it won't break in the bathtub, and is appropriate for children ages 1 through 5.

With winter coming, your child might be experiencing snow for the first or second time. If you are a family that likes to be outside and enjoy the snow, the Bambino Grande Pull Sled would be perfect for you. Its age range is from 6 months to 4 years and can fit either two toddlers or a single older child. It is made with birch planks, hand carved willow hand rails, and stainless steel hardware. You can also have your child's name engraved onto it!

Hurray! The election season is almost over. What better way to demonstrate civic responsibility for your children than with a Future Voter shirt from Cafe Press. No matter who you vote for, be sure to get out to the polls today and show your kids how its done!

If you are like me and don't mind noise, the Lollipop Drum could be a good gift for your child. It is made by the world's leading drumhead producer, Remo, so you know that it's a solid construction. It was designed for smaller hands, has a fun lollipop graphic that children will love, and it can easily be brought wherever the child is going, such as the grandparent's house.
