We have had a glorious two and a half years writing here at Super Cool Baby, but the time has now come to pass the torch on to another. Please welcome the new writer of Super Cool Baby, Tricia! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives and help you find the best baby products out there to make your lives as parents a little bit easier. Once you are no longer changing diapers every time you leave the house, you don't really need a huge wipe carrier in your diaper bag. I think that Swipe is a great idea. It has a quick draw opening that you can use one handed, and it's not too big. Easy to even throw in your purse along with a single diaper. Or you could leave it in the car and fill it up when needed.

Caden Lane Lola Diaper Bag

I am looking for a new diaper bag for #2 that is on the way, and I really like the Lola Diaper Bag by Caden Lane. It has exterior side pckets, a key chain holder, water proof interior, stain resistent exterior, and an adjustable strap. It also comes with a matching zippered mama sack. I love the pink and brown combination. If I have a girl, it's at the top of my buying list!

Gift Lit

Want to give the gift of literature to a child you know? if so, Gift Lit is the perfect idea for you. You buy a 3, 6, or 12 month subscription, and every month a new book will be sent. You can choose the age you are interested in, and there are categories you can choose from there such as picture books or books for boys. If you like the idea, this can go way past childhood. You can buy for young adult, adults, family books, or even create your own package. You can also be reassured that only the best books are being chosen. They have literary experts who make the choices, so you don't have to worry about something inappropriate being sent. The company also donates 10% of their profits to organizations that promote literacy. We think this is such a great idea and will be using it for all the gifts we give in the future.

Fisher-Price Space Saver High Chair

This high chair is a great idea. It's a regular high chair, but instead of a big in bulky base, it sits right on top of a kitchen chair. The Fisher-Price Space Saver High Chair provides a full-size feeding experience for a small-size place. It easily straps to most kitchen or dining chairs and has three height adjustments and reclining positions. Best of all the pad is machine washable for an easy cleanup.

KidKraft Toy Chest

We have a small toy chest in Anderson's room that looks just like this KidKraft Limited Edition Toy Chest. This chest has a large, generous space for organizing toys, games, and books. The flip-top lid has a secure safety hinge to protect kids fingers from getting caught. Plus, with a gracefully arched back, the toy chest is sturdy enough to double as a bench for extra seating in your child's room!

We are . . . The Laurie Berkner Band

Anderson loves listening to the Laurie Berkner Band in the car. I think he'd really like this DVD: We are . . . The Laurie Berkner Band. It features 11 original songs, and a couple of DVD extras: behind the scenes, a choreography tutorial, etc. The best part about Laurie Berkner is that her songs are so accessible. We love singing right along with Andy in the car. That accessibility is also present on this DVD. From the playful rhymes that declare Tuesday "snooze day" in "I'm Gonna Catch You" to the absurd image of fish taking showers and brushing their teeth in "The Goldfish," Laurie Berkner's songs celebrate a child's love of the ridiculous. The uninhibited trio performs live onstage or within simply animated scenes.

Stack n Smile Photo Blocks

I think the Stack n Smile Photo Blocks are great because babies love pictures. Whether you want to put other pictures of babies in the blocks, pictures of your family, or anything else, your little one will love to look at play with these. Each set includes four soft foam cubes that can hold up to six 4" by 4" photos.

Cool Aller-Roo Pouch by Allerhand

I think the Cool Aller-Roo Pouch by Allerhand looks like it would be extremely handy to have on hand. It has an insulated drawstring interior, outer pocket, detachable arm strap, and velcro clip. Use it as a belted money bag, stroller pouch for toys or bottles, bike bag, car activity bag, and much more.

Input/Output T-shirt

If there's one thing about newborns that's true its that they do three things really well: sleep, eat, and poop. Celebrate the latter two with this cute shirt. The front says "Input" with an arrow pointing up to your child's face. The back says "Output", and you can guess where the arrow points back there. Of course, as a software developer I think this shirt is hilariously awesome, and I'm thinking it might find its way onto Anderson at some point in the future.

Trunki Ride-On Suitcase at Giggle

Want to get your toddler involved when you are traveling? We think the Trunki Ride-On Suitcase at Giggle would do the trick. It can store all your child's toys for your trip, and it has a contoured shape that allows your child to rid on it while mom and dad pull. It has a low center of gravity and end stabilizers, so it will stay upright while your child is riding on it. It comes in two colors, pink and blue.

Rocket Playset

B14D Liftoff Rocket Playset

Anderson loves playing with rockets and spaceships. He imagines them flying around the room with great velocity. I think he would really love this Liftoff Rocket Playset. The rocket has an on/off switch and volume control so it doesn't have to be too loud. This 16" rocket features a cockpit with room for two astronauts, a kitchen with a murphy bed and toilet, a stowaway dune buggy. And when you push a button, its engines light up and plays "realistic" rocket sounds. The rocket comes with an alien, a moon crater, a dune buggy, a space dog and two astronauts.

Sam Crib with Blossoms by Muu

Looking for a crib that is a little different? The Sam Crib with Blossoms by Muu is simply stunning. I love the red flower design o the side. But if you get sick of the design, it is interchangeable and attach easily via magnets. The crib also has three mattress levels, fits standard crib mattresses, and can be converted into a toddler bed with a conversion kit.

Germ Guardian Nursery Sanitizer

Germ Guardian Nursery Sanitizer

I always found sanitizing things with a pot of boiling water was just a little too inconvenient to do regularly. That meant that things either weren't available for use (toys) or weren't as clean as they could be. If we had the Germ Guardian Nursery Sanitizer we wouldn't have had any problems. With the push of a single button, you can sanitize breast pump attachments, bottles, bottle nipples, hard toys (includes metal, wood, rubber and plastic toys), soft/plush toys, stuffed animals, dolls (Will not shrink or fade colorful fabrics), rubber toys, and plastic toys. (You can't sanitize toys with electronics or toys filled with water). The Germ Guardian sanitizes using a 30-minute dry heat cycle that has been independently proven to kill 99.9% of germs. Pretty good if you ask me!

Silent Light Phone Sensor

The Silent Light Phone Sensor is one of those products that would have saved my sanity the first year of Andy's life. Living in a small apartment, it was impossible to keep the phone far enough away from his room so it wouldn't wake him up. This would have allowed me to know the phone was ringing while keeping Andy asleep. You can turn the ringer on and off so that it still rings if needed.

My Tot Clock

My Tot Clock

We recently realized that when Anderson wakes up in the morning he sits quietly in his bed until we come and get him. Perfect for us, sure, but probably a little boring for him. That's where the My Tot Clock would come in handy. My Tot Clock is an all-in-one sleep aid, alarm clock, nightlight, and timer for children ages 2+. It teaches little ones when to sleep (blue light) and when it's okay to get out of bed (yellow light). It also plays bedtime stories, lullabies, fun wake music, and even white noise (like ocean sounds)! As an added bonus, My Tot Clock has a light blue light for nap time, a red light for timeout, and a green light for any positive timed activity. Perfect for those young enough to start learning a daily routine, but not old enough to be able to tell time.

Fisher Price Zen Gliding Bassinet

Andy hated his bassinet, and I think it was because it rocked but had to be pushed. As I didn't want to stay up all night doing that, we had a few issues early on. The Fisher Price Zen Gliding Bassinet can fix this problem though. It has a smooth gliding motion that has a variable speed control knob, so you can custom it to what your baby prefers. There is a large tray underneath for storage, two wheels so it can be moved from room to room as needed, and a waterproof pad and washable cover. There's also 16 songs available as well as other noises, including nature sounds and simulated sounds from the womb. It's also very good looking, so it will match your home's decor.
