The OASIS Guide to Asperger Syndrome

OASIS.jpg

When my first child was about 15 months old, I started to notice that he was a little different than most of his peers. Well, it wasn't hard to notice, he was really different. Several pediatricians from different practices insisted he would outgrow whatever phase this was. They were wrong. I'm glad I followed my mommy gut and kept plugging on. Finally, when he was almost three he was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, ADHD and Sensory Integration Dysfunction. It was hard at first, but I took advantage of every resource I could find. The OASIS Guide to Asperger Syndrome: Completely Revised and Updated: Advice, Support, Insight, and Inspiration was so helpful to me and my husband. I've lent it to many parents that I have met on this journey. They have also found it useful. If you find yourself on this journey too, don't give up. Your child will be successful. Change never happens as quick as you want it to, but it happens.
