Up In the Air with a Baby

Up in the Air starring George Clooney was one of most acclaimed movies of 2009. If someone were to make a movie about your family traveling across country, what would the reviews be? Two thumbs up, or run screaming from the theater? Taking a baby on a plane doesn't have to be a travel nightmare for you, your baby, or the other passengers. All it takes is a little planning and you can be sure that the only turbulence will be caused on the outside of the plane.

For starters, make it easy on yourself as you travel through the airport. Kiddie travel systems such as Go-Go Kidz Travelmate help keep kids in one place so you don't have keep one eye out for your little one while you are trying to check your bags. It's lightweight and fits most car seats.
Once you are on the plane, there is no reason to sacrifice safety. You can keep your baby safely on your lap during flight with this Baby B'Air Seatbelt system. It's comfy for your baby and lightweight enough to fit in your diaper bag after you land.

While you are on the plane it is important to keep your child occupied. We have traveled with our laptop and played kid friendly movies during the trip. If that is not an option then purchase a few inexpensive new toys to entertain your baby. Small toys such as these small puzzles will keep your baby occupied during the flight.

If your children are older, don't forget classics like the Uno Card Game. They are a great solution to keep idle hands busy during flight.

Don't forget the landing. This is a time when many people get sick or experience uncomfortable pressure in their ears. Luckily, you can solve this problem by giving your child a lollipop or sippy cup. The swallowing action will open up their ears giving your child some comfort.
Now that you are prepared for the plane ride, you can start planning the rest of the trip. If all goes well, you won't need a vacation from your vacation.
