Sun Smarties Adjustable Swim Diaper

Swim diapers are expensive and unreliable. Yet most public pools require them. There's nothing worse than stocking up on swim diapers that you know won't fit next summer. If you want a more sanitary and cost effective solution, try these adjustable swim diapers. They contain waste better than disposables and meet public safety standards. Best of all, you'll know you won't be contributing to the 18 billion disposable diapers that fill our landfills each year.

Fields Organics Unscented Eco-friendly Floor Cleaning

Do you live by the 5 second rule? I'm not sure I like it, but we do. Many times food makes it to the floor and back up into someone's mouth before I can say, "No! Dirty!" That's why I'm careful about keeping my floor clean and what I use to keep it clean. Some household cleaners contain chemicals that may seem worse than any germ or virus that might be lurking in your home. Fortunately, there are an increasing number of options for parents who want earth friendly and baby friendly products in their home. Fields Organics Floor Cleaner is made from plant based proteins and it can be used daily on tile, sealed wood floors and any laminated surface. Now when that cookie hits the floor and your toddler eats it anyway, it might still be gross, but it won't be dangerous.

All You Need Is Love

When my first child was born, I was inundated with gifts. There were tiny outfits, little piggy banks and photo albums. Of all the gifts my new little family received, I have to say one of my favorites was this CD, All You Need Is Love: Beatles Songs for Kids. I still have it many years (and kids) later. I guess you have to be a Beatles fan to fully appreciate it, but for a parent who has just spent their day listening to the same children's music all day long, this CD provides some welcome relief. It puts a little bit of "you" back in your day and keeps your little one from losing it. All you need is love? Who knows if that's true, but when you are holding your little baby and humming these great tunes. It sure seems that way.

Guardian Angel Window Guard

It's been a long hard winter for most of the country. Believe it or not, Spring will come to your town, if it hasn't already. You will want to get those windows open and get some fresh air in your home. Before you start throwing open windows, just remember curious little children will also be looking out those windows. So take an extra precaution and install Guardian Angel Window Guards on any window that might be a risk for your child. I have them installed on every window on my second floor and I consider it a great investment. Don't be startled by the bars on the windows either, in an emergency they can be easily removed for a safe exit.

Baby Einstein Great Barrier Reef Soother

Attention first time parents!!! Here's a tip. Don't drive yourself into the poor house filling up your baby's room with expensive boutique nursery decor. Sure, it's fun to walk through those shops and admire the precious designs that could surround your little prince or princess. Leave it there. The brutal truth is that you will be noticing it ten times more than your baby ever will. Instead, stick with practical and functional items like cute night lights and soothers. These will fill your baby's room with interesting objects that will keep your baby happy and keep your bank account in tact. This Baby Einstein Great Barrier Reef Soother has bright colors and soothing melodies. It plays for 25 minutes and is remote control activated. Fill your shelf space with this KinderGlo Brontosaurus Portable Fun & Safe Night Light. It fades out after 30 minutes or can rotate three colors continuously based on settings you choose. It's easy to decorate a nursery on a budget. You'll be glad you did when the college tuition bill comes.

Nosefrida The Snotsucker Nasal Aspirator

I admit nasal suction is not the most endearing of topics when talking about a newborn baby. As a new parent, this can be one of the most intimidating tasks you may have to endure during those first few days. If you have an infant struggling through seasonal allergies, there is no getting around this necessary but very gross duty. Traditional bulb aspirators must be placed inside the child's nose which can be dangerous. They are also difficult to keep clean. Put these struggles behind you with the Nosefrida The Snotsucker Nasal Aspirator. As a parent, you use your own suction to draw mucus out of your child's nose. Filters are included to prevent any bacterial transfer. It may seem daunting and frankly, a little "yucky." But once you see the improvement in your baby's breathing, you'll be converted to this method.

Little Hippie Patchwork Dresses

By the time the little girl in this photo grows up, the era of the 60's will seem like ancient history. But labels like "hippie" still endure. It just seems fun to associate with such a free spirited time. It's a perfect name for simple, adorable little girl dresses. They look so cute and are reliably constructed. The materials are made of the softest cottons and are pre washed and pre shrunk. If you are going to a play date or a birthday party, your little hippie will be the cutest, best dressed girl around.

Do you want to have a "green" baby?

There's been a lot of stories in the news lately about increases in allergies and other childhood ailments. It can be controversial. Are these increases really taking place or are we just doing a better job of documenting them? Still other people think there is no increase, we are just overreacting to what used to be considered a normal process of growing up. Who knows where the truth lies. A parent can only answer for their own child.

Lately, an increasing amount of parents are choosing to take a cautious route and purchase eco friendly baby products, top to bottom. Literally. You can buy earth friendly diapers from Seventh Generation. They are chlorine free, which means they are manufactured using a whitening process that prevents chlorinated hydrocarbons from harming the environment. However, you can expect the same comfort and performance from them as you as would from any other diaper brand. If you decide you want gentler soaps and lotions for your baby, you have many choices. There's California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo and Body Wash which boasts that it contains no nuts, gluten, oat, soy or dairy. It's ideal for parents and babies with sensitive skin. Other choices include Dr. Bronner Castile Soap and Angel Baby Shampoo and Body Wash. Both products are chemical free and cruelty free.
Once you have your baby all clean and diapered, he'll need a place to sleep. Believe it or not, you can buy earth friendly co sleeper sheets. Like sheets from Arm's Reach, they are made from bamboo the earth's fastest growing plant.

Lastly, but maybe most importantly, your baby will need toys. Planet Happy Toys has improved on the old fashioned concept of toy blocks. These blocks are made from sustainably-harvested basswood and non-toxic inks. That means safe play for your little one for hours.
You can choose to go for it and surround your baby in organic, earth friendly materials or you can just take it one step at a time and pick the products that are right for you. This is not one size fits all. As long as you and your baby are happy and comfortable, then you will know that you have made the right choices.

Clear Side Storage Unit

As a parent, it is so frustrating to see a toy box full of toys and know that only a fraction of them are getting played with. Kids have an out of sight, out of mind way of thinking when it comes to their toys. You can put those days behind you with this clear sided toy box. The top is open so there is no risk of slamming little hands and there are three separate compartments for sorting toys. Now your little one will be able to enjoy all of his toys for a longer period of time.

Texthook: push buttons while pushing a stroller

Many people would agree that texting while driving is unsafe. How about texting while pushing a stroller? If you are a parent who wants to keep your technology close and your loved ones closer, this texthook is for you. It attaches to almost any mobile object that has a handle bar, such as a bike, exercise equipment and even a shopping cart. Although, I doubt you should use it while attempting to use any moving object. It is pretty universally sized. Most phones and blackberrys will fit in the texthook. If you know a work at home mom, this might be an ideal Mother's Day gift. Now your favorite mom can take the baby for a walk in the middle of the day without missing any important emails. It's the ultimate in work life balance.

Graco Mosaic Stroller

It's a great feeling when you can finally graduate from a big clunky travel system to a simple stroller. They are lighter and tend to take up less room in the trunk. The problem is, you sometimes have to sacrifice storage capacity for simplicity. Basic umbrella strollers don't even have a canopy to protect your baby from the elements. This Graco Mosaic Stroller has many conveniences of a larger system, but is more manageable since it weighs in at under 20 pounds. Despite its light weight, it can hold a child that weighs up to 40 pounds. The storage area is large and easily accessible. You can fold it easily with one hand. You will never even miss your old system.

Guardian Angel Window Guard

Once you plug all the electric outlets and tied up all the window cords, take an even closer look at your windows. Do you know many children fall through window screens every year and are seriously injured or killed? It is a preventable tragedy. The window guards by Guardian Angel are easy to install for long term safety, but easy to remove in the event of a fire. They are worth every penny you will spend. I got them after I realized my second child liked to climb on the window sills. It has given me peace of mind to know that there is a layer of protection between my son and the window screen. Of course, he still needs to be supervised, but it is a comfort to know that those guards are there.

Sand Away Beach Bag

It may seem cold out now, but summer will be here before you know it. It's not too soon to prepare for the warm weather and the lazy days of summer. If you are like me, you can never find the right beach bag. They are either too small or don't have enough pockets. I like this Sand Away Beach Bag though. After a fun day at the beach, I hate cleaning the sand out of the bottom of a beach bag. It's so big, it holds beach towels and plenty of toys. There are closures at the top to prevent items from falling out and when you are done it folds into itself to fit in a small nylon bag, perfect for storage.

fairies wall clock

A wall clock is something I never put in the nursery, although so many times I wished I had. At least watching the second hand move would give me something else to concentrate on when rocking a baby who won't sleep. In the wee hours of many mornings I often wondered how long I had been sitting and rocking in silence. If I found a cute clock like this one, maybe I would have finally gotten around to it. This battery powered fairy clock is the perfect accent for any little girl's room. It has a vintage design and is printed directly on cotton. The method used creates a vibrant color and highlights the special details that will fascinate your little girl. It will hang in her room for years.
