Lil' Rinser

Anderson is starting to dislike bath-time. Like a lot of kids, it almost definitely has to do with the buckets of water that I dump on his head to rinse him off. If we had a Lil' Rinser bath-time would be a lot easier. With the Lil' Rinser, you create a watertight seal against your child's head. You press it against the forehead above the ears, and then you can pour as much water onto your child's head as necessary. As long as you maintain a good seal, no water or shampoo will go into your child's face! The Lil' Rinser is one size fits all, so you can purchase just one for the whole household. It's available in four color combinations: yellow and blue, turquoise and purple, green and orange, and purple and dark purple.

Cotton Monkey Hooded Towels

Wild Dill has some great hooded towels that I really like. The fabrics are quite pretty. This is especially true on the Organic Sweet Jane Hooded Towel and the Organic Whispering Grass Hooded Towel, both by Cotton Monkey. All their hooded towels are made with organic sateen on the outside and terry cloth on the inside, and it is dyed with non-toxic water based pigments and dyes. The size works great for newborns and toddler, so you will get a lot of use out of it.
Also, just for Super Cool Baby readers, get 15% off at Wild Dill with the code scb15 at check out.

Infant Bath by Primo

I had a hard time bathing Andy when he was first born because I just had no idea where to begin. I knew that many people bathed their newborns in the kitchen sink, but that seemed way too dirty for us. And Andy's plastic tub was huge compared to him in those first couple of months. Primo's Infant Bath
fixes this problem. It is a non-toxic plastic tub that fits right into your kitchen sink. This way, you can stand when you wash your newborn, and you don't have to scrub the sink clean beforehand. There are suction cups that hold the seat securely in place, supports the baby's arms and legs while bathing, and is good up to 18 lbs.

City Squirtie Set
We have a set of bath toys like these City Squirties and Anderson loves them. We use them in the bath tub, obviously, and he loves it when we fill them up with water and squirt him from far away. This set of bath toys shows a bunch of different vehicles, making bath time fun and educational. They're even good for bringing on the road (see the vehicle theme here?) — a vinyl bag with drainage holes is provided for easy storage.

WashPOD
Bath buckets are the new thing in bathing your newborns these days. We wrote about one earlier, and we just found the WashPOD as well. What makes this one different? Well, its a lot more than just a bucket, its shaped more vertically than horizontally, so it safely holds your baby upright. Its small size will take up less room in your bathroom, and you'll bathe using a lot less water. This has the added benefit of extra stability. The other bath buckets seem to be a little wobbly, but this one has sides that go all the way down. The WashPOD made for babies up to 6 months old.

Shampoo Rinse Cup
At bath time, we often run into trouble when we're rinsing Andy's hair. We use a regular plastic cup to scoop up some water, and we pour it over his head while trying our best to keep it out of his eyes. Sometimes that doesn't work so well, and even though we're using "tear free" shampoo, there are still tears! The Shampoo Rinse Cup from One Step Ahead might be a good solution to this common problem. It has a soft rubber panel which you can place against your child's forehead. Then when you poor the water, it should all head in the right direction. Of course, it also just might help if your child would look up for you when you rinse. But this gadget seems useful, and might be a good addition to your bathtub!

Kids Bubble Bath Goo
We've been using your basic Johnson & Johnson body and hair wash at bath time. It's working pretty well for us, but I would imagine that at some point Andy is going to want something to make bath time a little more interesting. If you're at that point, check out this Kids Bubble Bath Goo It's a colorful gooey soap. You can pour a little in to make a bubble bath, or use it to wash up. Each container comes with a little duckie or froggy to play with.

I think the Flower Tubby Hooded Bath Towel is one of the cutest I've ever seen. The petals frame the face so well and will make your baby look like a flower! It's also available in a puppy design as well as matching flower and puppy washcloth.

Review: Frog Pod Update!
The other day we took a look at the Frog Pod. And at first we were a little disappointed with the adhesive. Well, according to the nice folks at Boon, newer Frog Pods all come with a new mounting option: suction cups. We got the new bracket in the mail the other day and immediately tried it out. So far it has been working great! We stuck it to a clean, dry shower wall last week and its held fast ever since. We couldn't be happier with it. So, if you've been having trouble with the adhesive strips, be sure to give the suction cup wall bracket it a try; you won't be disappointed!
The Frog Pod is available at Amazon.com, Baby Wise, and your favorite baby retailers nationwide.
