Gummi Crib Rail for your teething baby

We were lucky that Andy never chewed on his crib, but we know other parents who weren't so lucky. If this is a problem with your child, we've found the Gummi Crib Rail. This is basically a giant and soft teether that goes over the railing. It is non-toxic, installs with self-adhesive strips, and is trim-to-fit.

Lavender Lab by Cloud b

The Lavender Lab by Cloud b is a plush dog that has aromatherapy packets inside of it which are filled with lavender. There are lots of sleep benefits associated with lavender, so it may be a good idea for your child if you are having sleeping issues with him. Each packet lasts up to five years, and you can release additional scent by squeezing the dog's head, back, or bottom. You can also use it too, placing it on your pillow when your child isn't sleeping.

Swann Guardian Angel Handheld Monitoring Kit

When Andy was first born, we lived in a very old house that creaked so much when we walked it would often wake him up. Needless to say, we rarely checked on him when he was an infant. We obviously wanted to see how he was doing though, so the Swann Guardian Angel Handheld Monitoring Kit would have been perfect. This monitor has a color liquid crystal display screen that allows you to have a crisp and clear image of your baby, even if the nursery is dark! There's an ultra sensitive microphone build in too so you can hear every noise your baby makes. It's also portable, so you can walk all over your house with it easily.

Baby Bundle at Lima Bean Baby

The Baby Bundle at Lima Bean Baby is one of the more adorable swaddlers I've seen. It's designed with a large pocket opening vs the wraps that many have. The top layer extends around the body and ties on the left side with two ribbons. It's good for infants through 3 months old and available in five prints: Giggle, Wiggle, Twinkle, Cuddle, Snuggle.

SwaddleMe Traveler

This is something I wished I had when Andy was an infant. The SwaddleMe Traveler is perfect for car travel. Unlike the regular SwaddleMe, it has legs so that you can still strap your baby in to his car seat or stroller. If you need your baby to sleep when not in bed, this is perfect. It attaches with Velcro, is easy to open when you come inside to prevent overheating, and comes with a matching hat. It fits newborns 7 to 14 lbs.

Tüthillo - A Modern-Day Tooth Fairy Pillow

Tüthillo Pillow

This isn't really for babies, but its so cool that I couldn't pass up telling you all about it. Sure, back when we were kids we just put our offerings for the tooth fairy under the pillow, but kids these days are too wily for that. Enter Tüthillo: a stuffed companion with two pockets: one for a newly lost tooth, and another for the gift left by the tooth fairy. That way, you don't have to fish around under your child's pillow, right under their sleeping head! Tüthillo comes in two colors, purple and lime, with several more on the way next year.

Keep a Journal for Your Newborn

When we first brought Anderson home, we tracked everything we could in a little notebook that we carried around the house. We did this because we had no idea what we were doing, and we wanted to answer the "how often" questions they ask you at your first pediatrician visits. Well, if you're bringing a newborn home soon, check out this Baby Tracker: Round the Clock. It's a specially designed spiral-bound journal to keep track of feeding, sleeping, diaper changes, and play time. You can keep all your facts, figures, todo's and notes all in one place. Plus, it'll be a neat keepsake for when your child is older.

Travel Crib Light by Baby Bjorn

While liked our Pack N Play, I have never been good at putting it together, so it was always a bit of a pain to travel with. It always seemed really heavy too. I just discovered the Travel Crib Light by Baby Bjorn, and I think it looks like a great investment. It weighs only 11 lbs, can be opened in one easy motion, and both the waterproof mattress cover and bed fabric are machine washable. It can also be used for newborns up to 3 years old and folds up into a briefcase-like carrying case. If you travel a lot, we think you should consider this crib.

Amenity Bedding

I have just discovered Amenity at 2Modern, and I love their new bedding line. Made up of sheets, bumpers, pillows, blankets, and some beautiful wall hangings, it is such a pretty and unique design with a bunch of different forest creatures in high grass. It looks totally cool, and I wish I had known of this when I was planning Andy's nursery. It's also made from organic cotton with low impact dyes, so it's eco friendly as well!
