Review: Fisher-Price Healthy Care Booster Seat

When we were done with our high chair, we moved on to this Fisher-Price Healthy Care Booster Seat. We wanted something that we could strap right onto a chair and buckle Anderson into, and this one fit the bill. This booster seat comes with a tray that snaps in, and another tray "liner" that snaps onto that tray. This gives you 2 trays to use through the day, so hopefully you don't have to clean a try for every meal. There's also a snap-on lid that goes over the trays, but we never found any use for it. The seat height is adjustable. It has three positions, but we've been using the highest position since we got it. You might have to adjust it depending on your table.

The best part about this seat is its portability. The seat can fold up and squish down into something that's quite small. We stowed it in the back of our car on a recent car trip, and it gave us a guaranteed child seat no matter where we went.

BB2 Rocker

modernseed_1974_27736900.gif

Every kid needs a chair of their own. Andy has really taken to sitting in chairs that are just his size, so I know he would love the BB2 Rocker over at Modern Seed. This rocker is made from environmentally friendly, industrially grade materials. It's remarkably easy to clean and would make a perfect addition to any play room, bedroom, or living room! And best of all, enter coupon code FILLY10 at checkout to save 10% off order.

Pirate Rocking Boat

GC-boatrck.jpg

Looking for a rocking horse that's a little off the beaten path? Or maybe you've got a lover of the season on your hands. Either way, this Pirate Rocking Boat definitely fits the bill. It's not entirely clear if the steering wheel turns, but it definitely looks like a neat place to sit and rock, while the waves crash against the hull. There is some assembly, but hopefully it isn't too difficult.

Kaboost Portable Chair Booster

Kaboost_Chair_Booster_a1.jpg

Have a child who refuses to sit in her booster seat? Well, with the Kaboost Portable Chair Booster you can boost the entire chair. This portable booster has non-slip rubberized feet, and 2 height positions (although I do not know what those positions are). It fits most chairs with square or round legs. Kaboost is available in three colors: Green, Natural, and Chocolate.

Lean On Me Activity Bolster

04801.jpg

When Anderson was just learning to sit, we always had to stick a pillow behind him, because he would throw himself backwards at the slightest provocation. With this Lean On Me Activity Bolster our fears would've been eased. And as an added bonus it makes a great play area. There are five different toys attached, including an eight page book that crinkles and rattles. There is a removable snack cup, storage pockets and a carry handle. This might be a great bolster to take with you on your holiday travels this year. The one thing I don't get is: do they really expect 2 year olds to use this? Maybe as a place to sit while watching their favorite TV show?

Harley Davidson Rocker

KKHarleyRocker10007.jpg

We've got a neighbor who loves to ride his big Harley-Davidson around town. He's now an empty-nester, but I bet he'd love to give something like this Harley-Davidson rocker to his grand kids. The rocker is inspired by the Harley-Davidson Softail Deuce. It has a leather seat, and a sculpted and chromed front fork to support the handlebar. The motorcycle is securely attached to the base to keep kids safe.

Monster Chairs

52c1646a08feee544dcb8d7c029f1b21.jpg

Here's a fun chair for your child's room. The chair comes in three parts, and forms two modular seats. The top comes off, and the bottom provides a stable platform as well. I'm not sure what you'd use the middle for, perhaps a small footstool, or a pillow. The chair comes in four different colors (orange, red, green, and blue) and each one is a different monster.

Maclaren Rocker Bouncer

maclarenrockerbouncer.gif

We found our infant seat to be absolutely indispensible when Anderson was just born. It was one of the few places we could put him down and not have him start instantly wailing. The Maclaren Rocker Bouncer seems like a nicer version of what he had. It can convert from a rocker into a stationary chair, and can even fold up for extra portability. The seat is adjustable of course, and the toy bar and canopy are both removable. And what infant seat would be complete without the battery powered "soothing vibration"? The seat is available in coffee / pink as pictured above, and blue.

Fresco Hi-Chair

fresco_blue.jpg

Here's another really well designed high chair. The Fresco Hi-Chair from Bloom is designed with a baby's entire babyhood in mind. First, it can swivel 360 degrees and has a pneumatically assisted height adjustment that can be set in any position. From 3 months on, you can recline the seat all the way to make a sleeping pod. From 6 months on, you can use it as an infant seat, a play chair, and for feeding. You can also remove the tray and pull your baby right up to the table. And finally, from 2 to 4 years, you can use it as a child's chair. (And by then it's probably time to start all over again!). While $400 is on the expensive side, this well made high chair will last for years, if not generations. The Fresco hi chair is available in Bermuda Blue, Rock Red, Orange Harvest, Rosey Pink, and Frost Grey.

Nano High Chair

nanohighchair.jpg

The Nano Highchair is made for urban parents living in tight spaces. This European designed highchair is sleek, small, and stylish. It folds up for easy storage, so it takes up less space between meals. It has an adjustable footrest so the chair will grow with your child. And the micro-leather upholstery will be comfortable for your child and easy to clean. Even if you don't live in a tiny apartment, his chair might be perfect for you!

New Colors for Coco

1-0-0.jpg

We wrote about the Coco Rocker in the past. Now you can get it in some snazzy new colors. This high quality infant seat with a clear plexi-glass base is now available in Bermuda Blue, and Orange Harvest. We still love the look of this rocker, and the new colors open up the decorating possibilities even more.

Starck High Chair

white-M.jpg

Looking for a high chair to match your modern decor? This high chair, designed by Philippe Starck and Maclaren would look great at anybody's dinner table. One of the best features of this high chair — it folds into one of the smallest and lightest profiles available. And at $200, its not much more than an ordinary Graco high chair.

Doomoo Seat

doomoo.jpg

The Doomoo Seat is a Belgium product that we believe has just been introduced to the US. This seat is firm and snug, is covered with a stretchy and soft material, and comes with two upper layers in different colors. It looks really comfy, and we know that kids love to have their own chairs! Just note that at this point there is no belted harness as they are still pending approval. I think that you can never have too many places for your little one to sit in, and this would be perfect for a little tv watching now and then.

Sensory Selections Bouncer

sensoryselectionsbouncer.jpg

Andy had a very basic bouncer when he was little, and I regretted not buying him one that he'd find more fun. I really like the Sensory Selections Bouncer as it's very interactive. You can customize it to stimulate your baby's sight with an overhead motorized mobile, your baby's hearing with music and sounds, and your baby's sense of touch with the textured toys that your baby can reach. Use just one of these or all three, or move them all out of the way if your baby is overstimulated. It also vibrates and has a machine washable pad.
