Legare Bookcase

legarebookcase.jpg

I've been hunting for a bookcase for a while now. I want one for all the books we've accumulated, preferably one that fits into our tiny nursery. While the blueberry and strawberry colors aren't a perfect fit for us, the look of the Legare Bookcase certainly is. This bookcase is only 18 inches deep but 59 inches tall. It's easy to put together and has adjustable shelves. If you need a bookcase in a small space, this might be a good option for you.

notNeutral Tetra 1 Collection

notneutraltetra1.gif

The notNeutral T4 collection was inspired by the Greek prefix tetra (meaning 4), and the 80s computer game, Tetris. Each piece in this collection uses 4 drawer sizes to create interlocking storage structures.

The Tetra 1, shown above, is a 10 drawer unit made from the four drawer sizes in a 5-row, 2-drawer wide configuration. It is made from birch euro-ply and features one brightly painted drawer (with a choice of colors) and three dark sable painted drawers. The remaining drawers are finished in the natural birch euro-ply.

The accessory tray, available separately, can transform the top into a standard sized changing table. And when your child grows out of his nursery, you can continue using the Tetra 1 as a dresser, or in a linen cabinet, or even as a storage unit in your home office.

If you like the Tetra 1, be sure to check out the Tetra 2, Tetra 3, and Tetra 4.

Panton Junior

pantonjunior.jpg

When I was young, I loved a little rocking chair that I had. It was made for toddlers, and I found it so exciting to have a piece of furniture just for me. If you want toddler sized furniture for your little one, here's a great chair. The Panton Junior is 25% smaller than the original and has a fun shape, smooth curves, and has color that won't fade over time. If you have a few, they also stack easily. It's available in two colors, orange and white.

Mammut Furniture at IKEA

Mammet.jpg

When I see the Mammut furniture from IKEA, I really wish I could go back and decorate our nursery with these pieces. The designs are whimsical and imaginative, and are capable of withstanding years of creative abuse. It almost looks like this furniture comes straight out of a saturday morning cartoon! Just about everything has color options of red, blue or green. You can mix and match colors to create a colorful room. And best of all, this stuff is cheap! An entire room of a table, dresser, 3 stools, and a bedside table will cost you less than $200!

Monarch Nursery Chair

yhst-85043251286311_1924_32125530.gif

Not all nursing chairs are created equal. We have a glider that we bought from Craigslist, but I don't think it was ever actually used for nursing. However, if we had the Monarch Nursery Chair in our nursery things would probably be very different. It was designed with nursing mothers in mind by Dr. Lynn Jones, a furniture design professor from the UK. The chair has a low seat that raises the lap and supports baby, eliminating the need for pillows and footstools, while ensuring that feet remain flat on the floor. A gently curved seat-back supports the back and shoulders keeping the spine straight and chest forward ideal for nursing mothers. The angled seat pad that supports the back of knees and thighs, and the adjustable lumbar support increases comfort and support for the lower back. Finally, the seat has flared sides, allowing ample room for siblings during story time.

My First Bear Sofa

myfirstbearsofa.jpg

I've mentioned before how I tried to do a teddy bear theme for Andy's nursery. It didn't work out as I had a hard time finding teddy bear items and then I lost interest when he was born and I wasn't sleeping. I wish I had seen this a year ago (and had room for it in his nursery now!). My First Bear Sofa by Kaloo is a great place for your toddler to sit, a chair all his own! There's also a cat version bunny as well.
