Pacifiers and Teethers

Giraffe Baby Teether at The Land Of Nod

I think the Giraffe Baby Teether is so cute! It's very different than other teethers out there, at least in its appearance. It makes a noise when squeezed, is made of natural rubber and non-toxic food based paint, and it's made in France.

Raz-Berry Silicone Teether
The Raz-Berry Silicone Teether is a bestseller at Baby Wise, so thought I'd check it out. It is all silicone and non-toxic, has lots of texture as you can see from the picture, and can be frozen. I think it looks pretty cute. It can be used from birth on up.

Paci Pod
For those of you that are lucky enough to have babies that take a pacifier, the Paci Pod is a product for you. It's a pacifier holder that can attach to your bag so it's easy to find, and the best part is that the inside has an antimicrobial treatment! I think this would be a great way to make sure you always have a spare pacifier just in case you need one at any time.

Bink Link
I've mentioned once or twice or a thousand times here how Andy's never used a pacifier, much to my chagrin. I think if he had, I would have kept a little more of my sanity since he's a fussy baby. For those of you lucky ones who have a baby that will take a pacifier, the Bink Link would work well for you. They make really cute pacifier clips. One side attaches to the shirt (or whatever else is nearby), so that the pacifier doesn't fall out of reach or get lost. They have a few different color combinations, my favorites being Candy Necklace and Quack!.

Review: Wubba Nub Plush Pacifier
Andy never really used a pacifier. This isn't because we didn't want him to. It was because he could never keep hold of it long enough for it to be useful. It's too bad we didn't know about the Wubba Nub earlier. We wrote about this before, but Baby Dagny was kind enough to send us one for review.
The Wubba Nub is essentially a pacifier attached to a small plush toy. The idea is that its a lot easier for a newborn to keep hold of the larger toy than a tiny pacifier. And given its large size, your baby will find it easier to pick up and replace the pacifier should it ever fall out.
All of the Wubba Nub pacifiers are machine washable, so you can just toss it in with your baby's laundry. Over at Baby Dagny, you can buy sets of 2 to 12 pacifiers. They even make special sets for triplets.

Personal Pacifier Holders and Keep It Kleen Pacifier
Anderson never took to a pacifier. While this is good in that I don't have to wean him from it (although I do wish he would take it for self soothing reasons). For those of you who have a baby that uses a pacifier, I know that the end up on the floor quite often, and a mother needs to figure out how to deal with that. Some products are on the market for such a problem. The Personalized Pacifier Holders at Lilliput Designs clip to the child's shirt. As long as your baby isn't rolling on the ground, this can work quite well. I love how you can choose the color of the clip as well as have his or her name on it.
Another option is the Keep-it-Kleen Pacifier. Made with a shield instead of a handle, the shield on it closes automatically whenever the pacifier is dropped. The shield also locks closed so that you can store it without a cover. It's currently only available in red, but soon it'll have nine other cool designs.
