Rockabye Sandy Snail Rocker

Andy's still a little young for a rocker, but because I loved mine so much as a child, I really want to find him a good one. The Rockabye Sandy Snail Rocker is certainly a possibility. It plays the song "You Are My Sunshine," has interactive activities, bright colors, different textures and patterns, and is easy to grip. There's even a hidden storage trunk for toys or other goodies!

Symphonic Stacker

Andy is all about his stacker right now. He learned how to put the rings on when we moved two weeks ago, but all he has is a boring stacker. I really like the Symphonic Stacker at egiggle. Each of the soft, colorful rings make a noise as it is placed over the center post. Isn't that a great way to teach cause and effect!

Review: Counting Pal

When Andy was baptized, we received a Counting Pal from a friend. We put it on Andy's crib, and he liked it a lot from the beginning. It has four modes, including counting, colors, and classical music, and under each number there is a tactile activity such as a butterfly rattle and flower rings. There are velcro straps that are easy to use as well as move it somewhere else. It needs batteries, but they last a long time. We've only changed them once in 10 months. It's also soft and colorful, perfect for a baby.

The one problem we've had with it is that the buttons under the numbers are hard for Andy to push. So I find that one of us has to push it, which can get tiring after a while. But Andy loves to play with the toys underneath, and he loves the music on every setting. The woman's voice is pleasant, and I find myself singing along, sometimes even singing the tunes when Andy and the toy are nowhere near me!

Although it's gotten the most use on our crib, lately we've had it on our changing table. Andy is going through a turning over phase (or maybe a hating diaper changing phase), so we are desperate for distraction during diaper changes so he doesn't force the messy contents of his diaper all over the place. And out of everything we've tried so far, this has been the best toy for it!

Also available at Amazon and in Spanish.

Baby Paper

Babies love that crinkly paper that is in some books and a part of some toys. Why not just get them the paper on it's own? Baby Paper is a 5.5 inch square that is machine washable, easy to grasp, and makes that crinkly sound when touched. We wish we had known of this sooner, Andy could not get enough of this noise! It's available in four colors: yellow, pink, blue, and mint.

Danny Dinosaur Rocker

When I was little, I loved dinosaurs so much. I was just fascinated and wanted everything to be about dinosaurs for a while. I think I would have adored the Danny Dinosaur Rocker. Besides being a super cool rocker, it also crinkles when he is rocked and he has a friendly melody and makes dinosaur sounds. He also holds up to 50lbs, so your children can get a lot of use out of him.

Monkey and Froggie Face Rattles

I love rattles. Andy's starting to get past them for the bigger things like my wine rack and mixing bowls, but I still try to give him rattles because they are so much fun. And I love any sort of noise! These two that I just found, the Monkey Face Rattle and the Froggie Face Rattle look like they'd be so much fun. That's probably because their eyes roll around, I love that! They also seem easy to grip and just look happy. Who can resist a smiling monkey and frog?

Back Seat Travel Mobile

I never had anything like the Back Seat Travel Mobile for Andy, and I really wish I did. We took a bunch of car rides, and I think he would have appreciated something to look at besides the back seat of the car. The mobile has a two sided visual mat with colorful images and an adjustable mirror, a detachable mobile that can also attach to infant carriers, colorful characters that chime, rattle, and jingle which are also removeable for individual attachment to infant carriers, and there are adjustable straps that will fit most cars.

Don Rudolph and Rodrigo Pull Toy

I love this brand new pull toy from Haba. Your child can have great and stimulating adventures pulling Don Rudolf and his horse Rodrigo around. Heck, I'd even want to pull the Don around! The lance and shield are detachable, and the whole thing is made from a cotton-polyester mix with beech wood wheels.

Stella and Ben the Bear Wrist Rattles

I've discovered two new wrist rattles at Oompa that are really cute. The Stella Wrist Rattle looks more like a bracelet in the shape of a flower. It has a cute butterfly on it with crinkly wings, it rattles, and the petals squeak. Then there's Ben the Bear Wrist Rattle. He also slips on like a bracelet. His hands crinkle, he rattles, and he has a big happy smile that your baby is sure to love.
